Past Life Musings - Part 1 of 2

I often wonder if there's really such a thing as a past life.

If yes, then there are two things about me which I associate to my past life (or lives?).

First, I am oddly drawn to old houses -- as in like the Spanish villas in Iloilo, the ancestral homes in Vigan (Syquia mansion), Cebu (Casa Gorordo), Laguna (Jose Rizal's), Cavite (Aguinaldo's), and the old, creepy mansions in New Manila.

There was this ancestral home along Quezon Avenue I wanted to buy since I was in college (hahaha as if!). It was up for sale for as long as I could remember (haunted?)...I even tried contacting the number on its For Sale signage in the hopes of securing a tour -- to no avail. It was uninhabited, sandwiched by two big commercial establishments and looking terribly out of place along a main thoroughfare. Less than a year ago, it was torn down. It made me sad seeing its splendor reduced to rubble. And I don't even have a picture of it. :(

Ancestral houses make me feel awed and right at home. I don't know why, but something about them calls out to me...I wonder about their history and the people whose lives they witnessed, I love their ornate architecture, and I so like to live in them! Others may find them creepy, but to me they are simply beautiful.

What's the connection to my supposed past life? I don't know. Maybe in my past life I lived in one? As a senyorita OR as an aliping namamahay hahaha. Perhaps I was an architect, or a karpintera...I have no idea. Anyways, no point trying to figure it out! :)

I believe in past lives. I dunno, I always had.

I'm drawn to old churches. Maybe I was a nun... Hmmmmmm (NOT)

Anyway, ancestral homes are nice. There's just so much history and story in every part of them.

Mother Superior Samantha -- blessed be!
Good luck na lang sa nunnery if you're there, ehehehehe. Parang ang pangit ng term na nunnery...is there such a term, or convent is a better one? In any case, I absolutely cannot imagine you in one, even if you are... angelic! (hahaha sabay bawi)
